Fleet rentals
Every redirected fine is one your rental fleet does not pay
Your rental agreements already say who was driving. FineHub identifies the renter for every AARTO and CPA notice and redirects the fine to that driver inside the deadline. On request, we build an integration with your rental back-office system so notices are matched to agreements automatically.
Why it matters
Rental fleets carry other people's fines
100%
Saving on every redirected fine
A fine that is successfully redirected moves to the renter's record. The fleet pays nothing on it: not the fine, not the courtesy-letter fees that follow a missed deadline.
Demerit points put the fleet at risk
When the AARTO points system comes into force, fines the fleet pays or leaves unanswered count against it. More than 15 points disqualifies a vehicle's operator card: three months for every point over the limit. Subject to commencement.
One notice can block the fleet
An unanswered notice can become an enforcement order and an eNaTIS administrative block on every vehicle registered to the same BRNC. How the block works →
How it works
From rental agreement to redirected fine
Load your renters
Renter details from your rental agreements are loaded into FineHub. On request, we build an integration with your back-office system so agreements flow in automatically.
Detect
Notices are retrieved electronically from the authorities across our AARTO and CPA coverage, or uploaded when they arrive by post.
Identify the driver
Each notice's vehicle, date and time are checked against the rental agreement that was open. You confirm the renter and approve the redirection.
Redirect and prove
The nomination is submitted inside the deadline: to the RTIA for AARTO notices, or to the issuing authority for CPA notices. The submission, response and confirmed outcome are recorded against the fine.
Estimate
What redirection is worth to your fleet
Enter your own figures. Every fine successfully redirected is the full fine amount the fleet does not pay.
An estimate only. Actual results depend on which notices are eligible and on the authority accepting each nomination. Operator offences and fines already paid cannot be redirected.
What rental fleets need to get right
- Renter details in the agreement. A nomination needs the driver's name, identity or passport number, driver's licence number and address. Capture them at check-out.
- The right person. Nominate only the renter who had the vehicle at the date and time on the notice. Matching to the open agreement is what makes the nomination defensible.
- Inside the window. Nominations have a prescribed period. Matching notices as they arrive keeps every eligible fine redirectable.
- Never pay first. A paid fine is an admission and cannot be redirected afterwards.
- Operator offences stay with you. Vehicle fitness, loading and goods-transport infringements cannot be nominated to a renter.

Fleet rental FAQs
Can a rental company redirect fines to the renter?
Yes, for AARTO and CPA fines. The registered owner may name the person who was driving when the infringement happened: by AARTO nomination to the RTIA, or by giving the driver's details to the issuing authority for a CPA fine. For a rental vehicle that is normally the renter on the rental agreement for that date and time. The nomination is a legal statement, so it must name the right person: the vehicle, date and time on the notice are checked against the agreement that was open, you approve the nomination, and the submission is recorded against the fine.
What does a redirected fine cost the fleet?
The fine amount, nothing: a fine that is successfully redirected moves to the renter's record and the fleet does not pay it. Redirections are included in the FineHub subscription for subscribed fleets, with no per-redirection charge.
Which fines cannot be redirected?
Operator offences, such as vehicle fitness, loading and goods-transport duties, stay with the operator. A fine that has already been paid cannot be redirected, because paying is an admission. Nominations must also be made inside the prescribed period, which is why notices need to be matched as soon as they arrive.
Where do renter details come from?
For each rental agreement: the vehicle registration, the check-out and check-in dates and times, and the renter's name, identity or passport number, driver's licence number and address. These can be captured in FineHub, or, on request, we build an integration with your rental back-office system so they are matched automatically for every notice.
How do demerit points affect a rental fleet?
Once the AARTO points system is in force, points follow the infringer. A fine the fleet pays, or leaves unanswered, counts against the fleet, and more than 15 points disqualifies a vehicle's operator card for three months for every point over the limit. Redirecting each fine to the renter keeps those points with the person who incurred them. The points provisions have not yet commenced; verify their status before relying on them.
